The point of this movement is to show God’s love to all people. Our goal should always be, through the Holy Spirit, to create a place where people can grow closer to Jesus; whether they have never known Him, they are a new believer, or they have had a relationship with Him for a long time. The church should be a place where people can form an authentic community of believers in a real and vibrant relationship with the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. As the Church, we should be enriching the community around us by showing God’s love for all peoples; poor, hurting, or diseased.
Crafting engaging worship experiences through music, audio, visuals, and lighting is where I feel God has called me and has given me the most gifting and talent to reach people with His love. I believe that worship arts is where I fit into this bigger picture of the church. I think that I am most effective and best used when I am infusing my creativity within the organized church body. I also believe that I am the most effective when I am pouring into other people in the church and developing them and pushing them to be the best they can be for Christ.
We are all worship leaders. That is the roll of every person in leadership in the church. This includes everyone involved in making the weekend worship experience happen; whether that’s the head pastor, drummer, guitar player, synth player, or front of house, everyone on stage or a part of making the worship experience happen is leading. As the people on the stage, we are, whether we consciously acknowledge it or not, leaders in the church.
I want to be a part of a church that wants to grow and reach more people with Christ’s love. I’m constantly inspired by the passion, talent, and influence of worship ministries like Elevation Worship, Hillsong, Thrive Worship, and Bethel Music and desire to be a part of an influential worship arts ministry. I believe that every community of believers is made unique through the gifts and abilities of its members and that all artists should be given an opportunity to contribute. We should promote creativity throughout the entire church body.
I have been given opportunities before I was qualified for them and that has allowed me to make mistakes. I have found that these experiences have been the greatest teacher and influence in my life. Because of these opportunities, I am passionate about giving others opportunities to develop their gifts and pursue their calling.
